We look forward to welcoming you to the Fifth Annual Canadian Hedge Fund Awards. 4 October 2012 is the date for the fourth annual high-level delegation from Bermuda, with the objective of building mutually beneficial business ties between that offshore jurisdiction and Canada. In an afternoon session, our speakers will explore the costs and benefits for Canadian companies of doing business in Bermuda. There will also be an in-depth discusion on re-insurance, insurance-linked securities and captives, a long standing backbone of the financial sector in Bermuda. We are pleased to have Minister Wayne Furbert, Minister for Business Development and Tourism, open the session. We then welcome Kevan Cowan, President TMX Markets and Group Head of Equities, TSX Group giving a key note address on the TSX-BSX relationship, and the general M&A trend in stock exchanges. Our first panel on the more generic subject of offshore business will include Cheryl Packwood, CEO, Business Bermuda; Brendan Caldwell, CEO, Caldwell Securities, William Woods, CEO, W. Woods and Co, and Steve Woodward, Partner, KPMG Bermuda. The second panel, which will specifically look at developments in the insurance industry, will include Jason Carne, Partner, KPMG, Thomas McMahon, President, Cedar Management and Greg Wojciechowski, CEO, BSX. All delegates are invited to attend a wine reception hosted by Bennett Jones immediately following the information session. There is no fee to attend, but pre-registration is essential, either through this website or by email to Janet Keefe, jkeefe@knowledgesuites.com.
