The inaugural Hedge Funds Awards were held on September 16th 2008 at the Boiler House in the Distillery District of Toronto. The event was sponsored by; Belzberg Technologies, KPMG LLP and RBC Dexia Investor Services. Janet Ecker, President of the Toronto Financial Services and former Ontario Finance Minister was the keynote speaker. The awards were presented by James Loewen, National Director, Investment Management and Funds Practice at KPMG LLP.
